When you send an email from a Discussion in Tripleseat, delivery statuses help you track your message from send to engagement. Each email displays its current status so you can confirm delivery progress, see when a guest interacts with your message, and quickly spot anything that may need your attention.
This article explains what each status means and what to do next.
Where to Find Delivery Statuses
Open any Discussion in Tripleseat and look at the email thread. Each sent email displays its current delivery status next to the message. Statuses update automatically as the email moves through delivery, so it's worth checking back if you've just hit send.
Delivery Statuses
These statuses indicate your email has been successfully delivered or that your recipient has interacted with it.
| Status | What it Means |
| Delivered | The email reached the recipient's inbox. We can confirm it was delivered, but not yet whether it's been opened or viewed. |
| Open | The recipient has opened and viewed your email. |
| Click | The recipient clicked a link in your email, such as a link to a document or event page. |
A quick note on Delivered: A Delivered status confirms the email reached the inbox, not that your guest has read it yet. If you need confirmation they've seen it, watch for the status to move to Open.
Statuses That May Need Attention
These statuses indicate your email may need a follow-up or a quick review.
| Status | What it Means |
| Bounce | The email couldn't be delivered to the recipient's address. |
| Deferred | The email wasn't delivered on the first try, but Tripleseat will automatically attempt delivery again. |
| Spamreport | The recipient's email provider marked the message as spam. |
| Dropped | Sending to this address has been paused after previous delivery issues. |
Troubleshooting and Best Practices
If You See Bounce
A bounce usually points to an address issue.
- Double-check the recipient's email address for typos or extra spaces.
- Confirm the address is current.
- Correct the address on the contact record and resend the email.
- If the address is correct and it still bounces, reach out to the guest through another channel to confirm the correct email address.
If You See Deferred
Deferred statuses often resolve on their own.
- Wait while Tripleseat automatically attempts delivery again.
- Check back on the status shortly. It often moves to Delivered without any action.
- If it stays deferred for an extended period, verify the recipient's email address before resending.
If You See Spamreport
A Spamreport status means the recipient's email provider identified the message as spam.
- Avoid resending the same email repeatedly.
- Ask the guest to check their Spam or Junk folder and mark the message as Not Spam.
- Encourage the guest to add your sending address to their contacts.
- If the information is time-sensitive, follow up by phone or another communication channel.
If You See Dropped
A Dropped status means sending to that address has been paused.
- Confirm you have the correct, current email address for the contact.
- If the Dropped status appears next to a Tripleseat user's email and you've verified that inbox is valid and active, go to Settings > Users and click the red EMAIL DISABLED flag next to the user's email address. This clears the drop so Tripleseat can retry future messages.
- If the address is valid and you believe it was paused in error, contact Tripleseat Support so we can investigate.
Best Practices to Keep Delivery Healthy
A few habits go a long way toward helping your emails reach your guests.
- Keep contact records up to date by verifying email addresses when you add or update a contact.
- Check the delivery status after sending important emails, especially proposals, confirmations, and event details.
- For critical information, consider following up with a phone call or text message.
- Address Bounce or Dropped statuses promptly so there's plenty of time to resolve issues before the event.
