Contacts & Accounts Data Import
This article will outline the required fields and best practices for our Tripleseat support members to upload contact and account data into Tripleseat software successfully.
Contacts Headers
Listed below are the required and acceptable headers for a contact import:
- Full_name - required, can be used in place of first_name and last_name headers
- First_name - required
- Last_name - required
- *first_name and last_name can be used together in place of full_name header
- Email - required
- Phone - required
- Owner - required
- Account
- If the account column is left blank, the importer will create a new account using the Contact Name
- Title
- Full_address
- Address
- Address2
- Country
- City
- State
- Zip
- Email2
- Phone3
- Phone3
- Work_phone
- Home_phone
- Mobile
- Mobile2
- Fax
- Website
- Contact_type
- Description
- Email_opt_in
Best Practices
If there are any blank cells in some of the required spaces, the information may fail to import into the site. We recommend having default values for these instances to ensure the data is imported into the site.
Some examples of the standard defaults for blank cells under each header can be found listed below:
- Full name - ‘Not Provided’
- First Name - ‘Not’
- Last Name - ‘Provided’
- Phone - 111-111-1111
- Email - not@provided.com
- Date - 1/1/2023
- Start/End Time - 11:59 AM - 12:59 PM
- Owner - User’ name who requested the import
