Tripleseat merge fields serve as convenient placeholders that can be seamlessly incorporated within terms and conditions, documents, and email templates.
These dynamic merge fields automatically populate specific information from your Tripleseat site, encompassing Location, Bookings, and Contact details.
As a user of our hotel product or bookings feature, you will find the 'Booking Merge Fields' invaluable when customizing any text fields.
The merge fields categories you will use most often are:
- Booking
- Location
- Account
- Contact
Merge fields are a valuable time-saving tool for creating detailed Bookings. By presetting specific details and information, they effortlessly fill in the necessary information for the current booking being worked on. This enhances efficiency and ensures accuracy and precision in the process.
*NOTE Event merge fields will not work in most places on your booking documents, so it's important to select the proper category. However, custom financial or operational fields specific to your location can also be used as merge fields.
To effectively utilize merge fields in your templates, you will find and replace anything that needs to be auto-filled. For example, inserting your customer's first name, location name, date of signature, and booking start and end times.
Your documents most likely already have merge fields applied, but to edit them or add additional merge fields, please follow the process below.
To insert a merge field:
- Navigate through settings to the appropriate text field
- Highlight the area where you would like to insert a merge field
- Right-click on the highlighted area to open up your merge field options
- Hover over the merge field category you’d like to use
- Select the appropriate merge field for your needs
- And Save
As you can see in the example below, the specific Booking information has auto-populated.
*NOTE Although right-clicking while in Tripleseat text fields brings you to the merge field options, you can still access your usual right-click options like cut, copy, paste, and browser spellcheck recommendations by using the key combination of CONTROL (Ctrl) + Right-Click. Additionally, refer to the list of suggested keyboard shortcuts below for your convenience.
Control X = Cut
Control C = Copy
Control V = Paste
Merge fields can also be used on the fly per booking document or in the permanent terms and conditions within your document settings.
