There are two ways of revoking a user’s access to your Tripleseat site. Below describes each of those methods, along with factors to consider.
Suspend the user
This option removes the user’s ability to log into your Tripleseat site but keeps their name on all contacts, leads, tasks, and events they were in charge of. This allows you to easily report on their sales historically. This option also gives you the flexibility to recover that user in the future should you need to.
To suspend a user, you will need to:
- Go to Settings > Users > name of the person in question.
- Uncheck 'This user is active.'
- Click 'Update' at the bottom to save.
Delete the user
This option is more drastic and cannot be reversed. When you delete a user, Tripleseat will ask you to select another person to inherit the deleted user’s contacts, leads, events, and tasks. That way their workload transfers to another team member, and should an event contact send a new discussion email in an existing thread, that message reaches the new event owner.
Please keep in mind that if you pay your employees on a commission-based structure, this action will skew reporting. Whoever inherits the deleted user’s events will look as though they did more in sales than is accurate.
To delete a user, you will need to:
- Go to Settings > Users > name of the person in question.
- Click on the trashcan icon in the upper right that says 'Delete.'
- Use the dropdown to select another user to inherit all events, contacts, leads and tasks.
- Click 'Delete.'
