In Tripleseat, you may create as many users for a location as you like. Each user is identified by their primary email address, which they can use to sign in at login.tripleseat.com, and to which all notifications and email correspondence from Tripleseat will be addressed. That means an email may be used for one and only one user.
Anyone with access to Settings > Users may create another user for their site. This article explains how to create a new user and things to consider when doing so.
To create a new user, you will want to:
- Go to Settings > Users > New User.
- Type their name, the email address on file for their login, and their job title.
ASSIGN A USER ROLE. - In the lower section of the page, you can define the user role of the new user you are creating.
"This user is a Customer Admin.” This option would give the new user the highest level of access in the site, including the ability to add, delete, and manage online payment integrations. This article here provides more context about the parameters of a Customer Admin user role. That designation should only be allocated to a handful of users in your group.
Check off any location to which this new user should have access. When you do so, the dropdowns above and to the right of that location should unlock. That will allow you to assign them the level of access they need in Tripleseat.
GLOBAL USER ROLES - You should always click on the Default Role dropdown above the locations. This will display Global User Roles. Global User Roles allow the most customization around what one can and cannot do in Tripleseat and should be the primary way you assign someone’s level of access in the site. Any location dropdown that says Default will mean that for that location, the user will have the role defined in the Default Role dropdown.
LOCATION-BASED USER ROLES - Occasionally, you may have a user that needs a powerful user role at some locations and a more limited level of access at others. In those situations, you should click on the dropdown to the right of a specific location. That dropdown will display Location-Based roles. When selected, a Location-Based role will override the default permissions assigned by the Global Role. That makes Location-Based Roles an excellent way to give a user more restrictive access at a Tripleseat location where they might need visibility, but not the same level of editing power.
- Click Create at the bottom. Upon doing so, a welcome email will deliver to the email on file for the new user. They can use that to log into Tripleseat for the first time.
