All contacts in Tripleseat must belong to an account. The contact is the person you are working with and the account is the business organization to which they belong. Example, Sonjali Gurung is the Contact, and she belongs to the Account, Pfizer. (For social events, you can make the account the same name as the Contact.)
If multiple people from the same business reach out to your venue, their contacts may end up in separate accounts rather than living within a single account. This is a problem because it will hinder your ability to report on the cumulative sales for all related contacts. When this happens, we recommend combining duplicate accounts.
This article will explain how to merge together duplicate accounts. As a note - it is not possible to undo this action. Please take care when merging accounts to ensure the two you merge together are in fact duplicates.
To merge accounts together:
- Go to Accounts in the left sidebar.
- Search for the Account you wish to merge into another. Open that Account.
- Click Gear Icon > Merge.
- Search for a target account to merge the selected account into. Tripleseat will detect any other accounts it flags as related or similar and list them here for you to choose from.
- Select a target account. Confirm the details are correct. Click Merge.
Once completed, you will be redirected to the Account Details page for the target account. Here you will see all the contacts, events, and bookings tied to the merged account and the target account together in their corresponding tabs.
